TIME TO COMBINE

Unlikely Inventions

Why play this way?

Just as the characters in Unstoppable combine to become something new and enhanced, your little one will ideate and construct their own wombo-combo invention. As they explore this hilarious and irresistible concept using everyday household materials, they’ll think creatively, solve problems, and engage in symbolic play. Plus, naming their creation boosts language skills and is just downright silly and fun!

Painter’s tape

Set

Find two household items that seem totally unrelated (e.g., a spoon & a bracelet,  a shoe & a flashlight, etc.).

Look closely at your two items:

  • What is each one called?
  • What is each one used for?

Play!

Think about how you could combine your items to create something new with exciting abilities.

  • What will it do?
  • What will it be used for?
  • Will it solve a problem?

Tape or otherwise connect your items to bring your idea to life!

Name your new wombo-combo invention (e.g., “Glow-Go Boot” or “Lighty McBootBoot”).

Try it out and play, play, play!

Can you name these new inventions?

Looking forward to gifting these again!
"I have always gifted books at birthdays and these felt like a natural extension of the gifts I already give. It's nice to also be able to give my friends something that comes with additional activities they may not have thought to do."
