Outline Your Awesome

Mirror Play for Positivity

Why play this way?

Just like Steve, every child wants to feel exceptional! This powerful mirror play builds self-awareness, confidence, and a positive self-image. As children see themselves reflected—literally!—they will practice affirmations that remind them they are exceptional—just as they are. This exercise in self-love also establishes a joyful, independent habit that will last long after the soapy outline disappears.

Set

Stand in front of a mirror and use a bar of soap to trace your head, neck, and shoulders.

Draw a heart somewhere inside of your outline.

Play!

Position yourself inside your outline.

Look straight into your own eyes and say, “I am exceptional.”

Repeat with other positive affirmations as you look at your remarkable self in the mirror.

  • Strike a power pose.
  • Sing your affirmations.
  • Give yourself a hug.

Make this an independent practice by regularly revisiting your outline to celebrate just how exceptional you truly are.

Looking forward to gifting these again!
"I have always gifted books at birthdays and these felt like a natural extension of the gifts I already give. It's nice to also be able to give my friends something that comes with additional activities they may not have thought to do."
