IMAGINATION INSIDE OUT

Hidden Worlds

Why play this way?

Sometimes the best adventures happen inside, where only you can see them. This activity helps children connect with Emile by building a world that appears plain and quiet on the outside but is bursting with imaginative adventures on the inside. Playing in their box will promote creativity and self-expression while celebrating the introvert in all of us.

Ready

A cardboard box

Art supplies

Small figures, animals, or other objects

Set

You’re going to make an adventure box!

  • Like Emile, it will look quiet on the outside but will be very busy on the inside.

Play!

Open your box and decorate the inside to create an imaginative world.

  • Do not decorate the outside of the box.

Add animals, figures, etc. to bring your adventure to life.

Play your way in this new “inside” world!

When you’re done playing, close your box and notice how “quiet” it seems on the outside.

What hidden world will you create next?

Looking forward to gifting these again!
"I have always gifted books at birthdays and these felt like a natural extension of the gifts I already give. It's nice to also be able to give my friends something that comes with additional activities they may not have thought to do."
