This “inside the book” scavenger hunt invites your little one to look closely at Oge Mora’s collage illustrations and notice how everyday scraps of paper can become something extraordinary. While spotting textures, colors, and shapes, they’ll build observation skills and explore how artists transform simple bits of paper into storytelling tools by layering, collecting, and piecing them together.

Flip through your book slowly.

Match the paper scraps on your checklist with the collages in the book.

Check off each one as you find it.

Play!

Go on a paper hunt around your house! Look for scraps like magazines, wrapping paper, or newspaper.

Save your scraps in a special box and add new ones whenever you find them.

Use your favorite pieces of paper to make your own collage, just like Oge Mora.
